OPENING BRIDGE AND HOT SPRINGS BATHS

PROGRAMME FOR NEXT SATURDAY

i THE Reception Committee will meet the Minister for Internal \ Affairs (Hon. Gk Wi Russell), at i Helensville South station at •v I 10.10 a.m., and, will drive him \v*> direct to the bridge, when Mr F. \Ms\Dye (Chairman of the Waitemata \ County Council) will introduce ' the Minister, and invite him to open the bridge. After the Minister declares .the 4, bridge open, Miss Dye will cut the ribbon. ' '*' Mr Dye will jthen make a presentation to the Minister in honour of the occasion.^, \\. -"^ „ ■ The Minister, with QfojjJo& will make a visit of inspeenen of the bridge, the Minister at the same time unveiling the tablets. A procession of vehicles over the bridge, proceeding direct' to . the Hot Springs, concludes this ceremony. On arrival at the. Springs, the Minister will be received by the Chairman of the Domain Board - (Mr E. T. Field), who will invite ,' the Minister to open the baths. After the Minister has made an inspection of the baths, he will proceed to the pavilion and open the sports greens. Mrs Field ■will then throw the first " Jack " on the bowling green to enable play to be gone on with at once. . At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Minister and party will be entertained at lunch. Afternoon tea will be provided by a committee of ladies, and it will only require a large attendance of residents of Helensville and surrounding districts, to , ' make the affair the success it deserves to be. Those holding luncheon tickets will be entertained at Mrs Little's Parakai House. The afternoon tea provided at the Domain is open to the general public.. The surrounding settlers will provide vehicles to convey all visitors out from Helensville South station, irrespective of the motor services. The public are notified that traffic over the bridge will be stopped between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
