DEFENCE NOTES
The usual Thursday evening's parade of the Helensville Platoon of the Kaipara Defence Rifle Club will take place. * * * The Platoon will also parade on Saturday next, 2.30 p.m., at Defence Office. * * j * Captain Turley is at present in camp at Narrow Neck. * * * Dr. Phippen's name was inadvertently omitted from the list of officers attending C Company's camp at Helensville last week. * * ■ * Before the breaking-up of the camp the men gave a smoke concert in Becroft's Hall, when they took the opportunity of expressing their regard for our. popular area officer (Capt. Turley) in a manner which was most pleasing.'
