OBITUARY
An old and higlily-respected settler named John Pi S. Young, who has resided with the Christy family at KaukapaVapn, died on the bth inst., irom syncope, after a long and painful illues3. x Deceased was a remit* tance man, his people iu England being well-to-do. I'he funeral, which took place on Tuesday, was a large ani representative one, Rev Mr Lamond conducting the last sad rites iu an impressive manner, Mr A. Becroft was the underuaker, and looked after all furangements in his usual eareuj style.
The little daughter of Mr and Mrs Millward, of Helensville, named Kthel May, and aged 3£ years, died on Tuesday, after a protracted illness. Much sympathy is felt for the parents in their sad bereavement. The funeral takes place this (Thursday) afternoon.
