ALL ASLEEP HERE
FOR these stirring war times of need in many departments, having the main object in view of assisting our fallen and wounded soldiers, the comforts of those at the front, assisting the good nurses who are giving their time and services free, and above all " backing -up the Empire," Helensville appears to be one of those cities in the Domimion that is doing little or nothing towards the great philanthropic work in hand. Why is this so ? What should be everybody's business here, appears to be nobody's, as if Helensville were not so loyal and patriotic as other portions of the Dominion. Then let us show our deep-rooted appreciation of the doings of others by our actions and deeds. Now is not the time to go to sleep, awaiting the war to be over ; all should be up and doing something towards the great and successful final ending. In many much smaller communities than Helensville weekly entertainments, Dardanelle , minstrels, fairs, patriotic queens, sales of articles at fancy prices, etc., are the order of the day. But because ;no one appears to take the lead in Helensville, noting is doing ! Jot this down, and help along some movement or other that will liven the people up to their bounden duty.
