The Russian Campaign — New German Movement — Flight of Civilians —Italian Airship Lost
Details of the evacuation of Warsaw confirm the earlier report that nothing, of military value was left to the enemy. Half of the population left the city, factories were destroyed, and every scrap of metal removed. There is much joy throughout Germany and in Austria.
The Russians have also withdrawn "\from Ivangorod, the -^j&stuia fortress south of Warsaw, ■•■^But it is expected that the fortress " of Novo Georgievsk, 19 miles north of Warsaw, will hold out to the last. An attempt by the Germans to effect a vast enveloping movement by closing upon the Russisns from the Dvina in the north, and the Lubliri line in the south, is predicted in Petrograd.
The Germany continue to attack in the Argonne without success. They have also been Tunable to regain their lost positions in the Vosges.
An Italian airship, after successfully dropping bombs on the Austrian naval base of Pola, fell into the sea and was lost. Two other Italian airships bombarded the railway near Trieste and an Austrian camp •on the Jsonzo front.
