Germans Occupy Lublin — Russians Fighting in Retreat — Daring French Airmen—Several Successful Raids
Although numerous messages indicate that the Russian armies in" Poland are in process of retirement, no definite statement that Warsaw has been evacuated has yet been received. German communiques recordingsuccesses have been issued, and they make no claim to the occupation of the city.
There have been minor engagements between the allies and the Germans in Alsace, North France and Flanders. Several squadrons of French aei'oplanes carried out one of the most ambitious schemes of aerial attack yet undertaken, and dropped bombs on many strategic points occupied by Germans, in Flanders, Alsace and Lorraine. The Bulgarian Premier denies that Bulgaria is pledged to Germany, and says the allies could obtain her assistance by securing ■ conceessions from Servia. It is _jfr reported that Roumania is about VV 'to complete a treaty under which she will enter the war on the side of the allies.
