Italians fighting—Activity in Adriatic—JHard fighting on Gallipoli— Turks crossing from Asia—Russian success in Galicia—Tide of Battle Turning.
Hostilities have broken out between Italy and Austria. On the Tyrolese frontier, in the valley of the Adige, where the first important engagements are expected to take place, the A,ustriahs shelled some Italian outposts. The latter did not reply. An Italian destroyer entered the Austrian port of Porto Buso, west of Trieste, and close to the Italian frontier, and destroyed the quay. The allies on,, Gallipoli Peninsula have reached the houses at Krithia, but the fire of Turkish machine guns makes it impossible for them to hold the village. The Turks have been largely reinforced by reserves crossing from the Asiatic side of the Dardanelles.
