HELENSVILLE PLATOON OF THE KAIPARA RIFLE CLUB The men who intend going to Kaukapakapa on Saturday next, 22nd inst.j are requested to parade at the Defence Office at 11 a.m., in uniform. ■%■ # # Intelligence has been received that Lieut. J. W. Fletcher, formerly Sergt.-Major stationed at Helensville, has been wounded. Lieut. Fletcher was much respected in this area. A telegran, has been received from Mrs Fletcher baying- ■ that Lieut. Fletcher is doing well.

Great sympathy is felt here for Mr Screaton, on account of the death of his brother, Lieut. T. Screaton (15th N.A. Regiment), who was killed in action. Lieut. Screaton was a most promising young officer. * * * All the officers of the 15th N.A. Regiment who left with the maflk' body, have been either killedrqr wounded.
