EXCURSIONS TO HELENSVILLE
SINCE Government has taken in hand a scheme of railway excursions for Rotorua —shepherding it like a good father —in view of the falling off of the tourist traffic on account of the wai, and there is no doubt of its ultimate success, Te Aroha is now set upon its metal, and have asked that similar concessions be made thereto, and the Hon. Mr Herries has promised to extend the scheme, provided the good people of Te Aroha find the necessary money for advertising. As this will not amount to more' than £5 or £6 at the most, we have good reason to believe it will readily be forthcoming. After Te Aroha, the ECHO thinks Helensville, which is now adding so considerably to its bathing accommodation, should be next seeking week - end excursion trains, especially during three seasons of the yeai —spring, summer, and autumn. This a matter for the Domain Board to seriously consider, and the advisability of approaching the Minister for Railways (Hon. Mr Herries) on the subject. If Helensville once had these excursions, which were discontinued, it is no reason why they should not be given again.
