ON Friday evening of last week a most successful dance was given by Mr J. Turnwald on the ocoasion of his 21st birthday. There was quite a large gathering, visitors qeing present from Jfaufeapakapa,, Puhoi, and Glorit. The Hall was nicely decorated by lady friends, and no expense was spared to make everything a success. The floor was in tip-top order, and the music all that could be desired. Dancing was kept up with spirit till day-light when Turnwal^ W as hoisted snou^er.-.hig.!} a.nd q,a>rfed twice round th§ roqni. Mr If. Elwin made an efficient M.C. Mr Turnwald was the recipient of a number of useful and valuable presents, among them being a watch, spurs, bridle, and many other valuable things.
Everyone in this district, and a number in other districts, are interested in the EatriQUc Promenade Cqncert and fence which is to take i}la6e. 'on October 9. Already a gqqd many tickets have been sold, and should the weather be good' there, is bound to be a full house.
