The Ngapuhi tribe has selected Tau Henare "as its Parliamentary candidate for the Northern Maori seat. He will stand in the Government interest, and his candidature has been endorsed by the Native Minister, the Hon. Dr. Pomare. As the Ngapuhis are by far the strongest triba in the Northern Maori District, this means that if they are united Tau Henare is practically certain to head the poll.
