WAITEMATA COUNTY PATRIOTIC WAR FUND

The Waitemata County Council has decided not to make a vote from the County Fund for the purpose of assisting the War Fund, but rather to give the opportunity to every ratepayer to subscribe what he thinks fit, and for this purpose subscription lists have been deposited at all the Post Offices and stores in the County, also at the County Office, where contributions will be thankfully received. It is intended to forward the money received direct to Wellington, as *a contribetion from the inhabitants of Waitemata County, as their monetary contribution towards the cost of sending out Expeditionary Forces, but though a portion of Helensville is in the County in question, this proposition does not apply here, Helensville having taken the " bull by the horns," or rather, the "German sausage by the skin," and is now subscribing heavily to squeeze him.
