NOTES ON THE GAME
fBY DROP KICK]
Another Cup match, between Suburbs and Waimauku, was played last Saturday, and resulted in a win for the latter team by 9 points to 3. Again Waimauku had their best team, with the exception of Frewn, the half-back, who arrived too late to participate in vhe game. Suburbs had a pretty fair team—the best they have fielded this year. As with previous local referees, the game was a series of hand-ball, knock-ons, and off-side, with a fair amount of playing the man, but I was pleased to see the referee caution a couple of players in this respect. Suburbs could not stand the strain after half-time, although their good try was scored in the second spell by Arnold McLeod, who played a good game right throngh. Mcßride played a good game although he did not take the ball too well. . McAdam played a splendid game for first time out.
For Waimauku Tui had a day off doing a lot of muddling. Fletcher and Taylor played well, and of the forwards Williams and Foster played the best.
