NEW METHODIST MINISTER
The Rev. J. A. and Mrs T^niond have recently arrived in this district,. The rev. gentleman is to take cbar^u of the Methodist circuit, and on leaving Te Awamutu, where he was in charge, a farewell social was given to both Mr and Mrs Lamond. At the farewell the proceedings were of a varied character, a programme interspersed with anthems, solos, recitations and re.-ulmg-j being rendered, besides the speeches of those who were co-workers and with whom Mr and Mrs Lamond were intimately associated. The chairman (Mr Dent) called upon Mr Lamond to accept a purse of sovereigns from (be members and friends pf the To Av/amutu community, as a token of their regard and for his amiable qualities, while Mrs Lamond was presented with a handsann: silver cake dish by the ladies. The singing of the customary hymn and benediction terminated ths evening's programme.
