A Local Industry

PROPOSED LOCAL CANNING.

A phort time ago the Government made provisions for assisting those engaged in the Fruit Industry in the establishing of fruit canning factories by advancing the money necessary to start operations. It is considered by district growers that Helensville would be a capital centre for such a concern, as it is well situated for facilities to meet the needs of a wide area, Mr I. McLeod has the matter in hand at present, and if he meets with sufficient support a proper system of canvassing and. organisation will be entered upon by a provisional committee to further the project. Anyone interested in the proposal should communicate with Mr McLeod without delay.
