Wedding Bells

The Wanganui Chronicle contains the following report of a wedding of local interest : —A very pretty wedding was celebrated yesterday. morning, the contracting parties being Chas. E., second son of F. J. Wilson Esq., of Auckland, and Florence E., second daughter of D. Donovan Esq., of Helensville. The ceremony was performed by the Very Rev. Deari Holley. The. bride, who was given away by Mr A. W. Birss, wore a smart grey tailored costume with dainty cream vest, black hat swathed with black net and lovely white ostrich plume and lined with grey tulle. She carried a white prayer book 7 with white silk streamers. The chief bridesmaid (Miss Olive Donovan) wore smart gown of champagne colour Austrian silk, trimmed with blonde lace, champagne straw hat trimmed silk. The two little bridesmaid (Thelma and Marjorie Birss) looked dainty, the former in pale blue satin page suit and the latter in white silk frock and white silk hat. The duties of best man were fulfilled by Mr T. JReidie. The bridegroom's gift to the chief bridesmaid was a pair of ruby ear-rings and to the little ones gold brooches. Subsequently a reception was held at Mrs S..M. Anderson's Victoria Rooms, where a very dainty wedding repast was partaken of. Mrs Donovan (mother of the bride) received the guests in a handsome black satin gown trimmed old lace,- smart black hat trimmed with tulle and plumes. Mrs Coulter (Helensville) champagne sponge cloth trimmed with pastel trimming, large hat en suite. The happy couple left by mail train for New Plymouth.
