Meeting held on Saturday ; present — Messrs Jas. MoLood (chairman), A. Becroft. J. A. Wilson, Jas Hand and Jas. Stewart. The Minister fjr Tourist Resorts re-» grutted that he could not grant the ! £200 asked for to erect a wharf for tho Hot Springs, as there would be practically only passenger traffic aud no revenue therefore derivable. ! Air Munio Wilson (engineer) repurted on a proposed drainage scheme for Parakai and thu Hot Springs, also as to cost of water supply, sclitme from Helensville. Mr J. A Wilson said, the Town Boaid would cot have • enough water for town use without taking it out to Parakai. He wished to know who would pay for this installation. The Chairman said that had to bo seen. There would have to be another loan. Messrs Hand and Becioft thought Paiakat district would 1 ava to be included by forming a borough. The Chairman said the people at Parakai were in favor of a water and drainage service, and he had come to the conclusion that tho water supply could connect from the town scheme at tho Sw'ng. bridge, Mr Stewart said it was questionable whether there would be enough water t>i supply the town. Mr Slewart suggested that steps bs taken to form a borough and include the Parakai district if the settlers were willing to come in. The Cluiinnan said the question was whethur tho settlers would be in as good a position in the town area as iv the county. Mr Stewart thought it would be better to form a borough and take tho water supply to the Springs. A meeting could be called to find out the opinion of th« Parakai people. The Chairman admitted the time was ripe to form into a borough. Mr Stewart explained that a borough, could be formed and the area and boundaries defined, but it would not become"operative until 1915, ac^ cording ti the present law.
