Wide World Pictures.
Writing of to-night's programme the * North Auckland Times says : The subjects chosen were of a diversified nature, the various divisions of cinematography being splendidly treated by the several companies re~ presented. The features of the pictures was one of the finest educational films ever screened in Dargaville entitled " Paper Manufacture." Probably no industry has ever been screened so thoroughly as this long and clever Edison film. There was a very pretty love story in " Written in the Sands,'' in which a village belle is sought after by the nephew of a preacher, who in the end wins her. "In a Garden," n Tohanhouser drama is full of poetry and appealed to all present, while " The iload of Yesterday ~ was also a dramatic representation of moving quality. " 'ihe Shavoni Troupe," a coloured vaudeville film, showed four famous acrobats at work. The agility and strength of the lady performer is surprising to the last degree. " The Two Cinders," proved to be one of the brightest, most original and cleverest of the many clever pictorial comedies in which John Buuny and F lorencts Finch have appeared. Bunny in the title role adopts methods as fantastic as his face, and his face makes the whole phantasy convincing. Other very amusing pictures were s< G-reeneyed Monster," and Vitagraph Romance." " Winter Sports in Nodelaud," introduced some very preity winter scenery to the audience while the " Pathe Gazette " pourtrayed recent great events in Britain with its customary realism.
The above programme, which is a very special one, will bo repeated on Thursday evening.
