* New Zealand Loan & Mercantile Co. report:—■ At Westfield yards on Wednesday, fat cattle wei^o penned in limited numbers, and advanced in price, from Ll to lit 12s per head on last week's rates. Best oxen sold to 3Gs per 100 lb, others 33s to 35s -, cows aud heifers, 2os to 32s per l')0lb ; steers ioid at from L 7to LIG ; cows and heifers, Lo to Ll I 1 Os. Nearly all the Waikato consignments averaged over Ll4. Teal calves came forward in good supply, and also sold at high values. Heavy vealers sold at from L 3 10a to L 4 ss, medium-weights L 2 5s to L 3, lighter sorta 3os to 38, smaller and fresh dropped Ss to ISs. Sheop were yarded in full numbers, and met a ready sale at an advance on" last -week's quotations. Best Avethers sold at from 24s iul to 31s, others Ll to 24s od, inferior fatted 15s Od to 18s ; heavy ewes 25s to 27s Gd, others 15s 6d to' 225. Lambs in average supply, and sold at higher rates. Lest quality sold at 18s to 225, others 12s to 1 7s. Pigs came forward in average supply. Large baconers L 3 10s to Ixl 17s, large porkers, L 2 I2s to L 3 3s, porkers Ll 15s to L 2 Bs, slips 20a to 375, weaners 3s to Ss. ;
