HELENSVILLE CRICKET.
A meeting of those interested in forming a cricket club was hold in Cucksey's Ilotol last Wednesday evening, when there was a fair attendance.
Mr Jas. Hand was voted to the choir.

Mr Cucksoy, convener ol' the mooting, stated tha*he had bad communication from the Oroydon Cricket Club, asking that a-match be arranged at Helonsville for Labour Day, -JSUi ins)-..
It was agreed that the arrangements for a match with tho Club for the day mentioned be left in the hands of the Socrotaiy to arrange.
Mr Cucksey's oiTor to procure matting and material in time for tho opening match, was accepted with thanks.
The Secretary staled that Messrs lai McEwiu and E. 11. Oucksey had signified their intention of presenting a bai each to the Club. These donations wero received with thanks.
Messrs Ellett, Hand, and the Secretary were elected a committee) to arrange about a ground.
After discussion as to best mode of preparing a pitch, etc., the meeting was adjourned until Monday evening.
It is some time since there was a Cricket Club in Helensville, but as we believe there are a number of cricketers at present in the district, a good team should bo brought to light this year. A number of country teams would be only too pleased to visit Helensville, and town clubs are also anxious to send teams. It only requires enthusiasts to put their shoulders to the wheel to revive the king of summer games.
