PARAKAI HALL
The annual meeting of subscribers to the above was held on Friday, August 30th, when there was a fair &U tendance, Mr 8,. Nicholls was voted to the chair. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed,
The balance sheet was read and showed a decided improvement in receipts on previous years. The old committee was re-elected, Mr Jas. McLeod being elected Chairman, and Mr C. H. Spinley, Secretary and Treasurer; Messrs It. Nicholls, A, J. Bradly, and H. Aitkenhead were re-elected Trustee?.
A vote of thanks was accorded Mr C. H. Spinley for his services in the past. At a Committee meeting held afterwards, accounts amounting to £6 6s were passed for payment. The question of lighting the Hall with Acetylene Gas was fully discussed and ii waß decided to accept Mr Hale's (Auckland) tender of £21, it being tke lowest tender. Burton Bros also tendered, their price being £22 10s.
It was decided to canvas, the district for funds to provide a copper for boiling water for refreshments at functions held in the hall.
