Helensville Water and Drainage Scheme.

The wovk is now in fulL swing and that section to the School and Garfield Eoad corner will be completed by Friday. The next section to be put in hand will be No 4 Avenue, commencing from the junction at Commercial tfoad and No. 4 Avenue taking the length to the tunnel. Now that the work is developing, it can be estimated that main sewer drains in the township will be completed by Christmas. On account of there being, no watur for the concrete work it has been decided to do all hill sewers first. This will leave the flats which are troublesome to do in the winter for the springtime. It is expected that the Water Scheme will be commenced next week. In accordance with the careful estimate prepared by the engineer (Mr H. M. Wilson), he expects that the work will be done well within the estimated price and that a considerable sum will be available for the Board to spend in street channels or other woik work that might be approved of. It is expected that the water will be connpcted to the homesteads about next February.
