SCOUT CONCERT.
A very enjoyable Entertainment given by the boys of No. 1 Devonport Troop under command of Chief Scout master Simpson and the newly formed Patrols of Helensville took place on Friday Dec. loth in the Foresters' Hall, There was a very good audience which, with the exception of a misbehaved section in the gallery, was very appreciative. The Songs and Chorusses were well rendered by the Scouts and received much applause. The most instructive and interesting item on the programme was the very good Ambulance Display by boys of the Devonport Troop. Mr Ripley attracted attention by his beautiful tenor voice and Miss Little presided with distinction at the piano. Miss Donovan and Mr White, old friends, were received with tb.9 welcome they always get. The Farce entitled " The High-way man " was excellently done and caused much amusement, and the " Diamond Theif" was well acted though the effect was spoilt by the restless of two of the boys when they were supposed to be asleep!
Scoutmaster Simpson gave an interesting address on v Scouting " The concert concluded with •• Grod save the King, " The Devonport boys' said they thoroughly enjoyed their visit and ex> pressed a wish to come again to Helensville. We hope on somfe future occasion wo may again have the pleasure of witnessing thpir smart performances.
