•On Tuesday, at Papakura, at our usual monthly sale, there was-''a full yarding of oattle, and high prices were obtained. Forward three to four-j ear old steers, L 7 7s to L 8 ; three-year-old steers, L 5 15s to L 6 12s 6d; 18' month to two-yeaivold steers, L 3 10s to L 4 14s; yearlings, L 2 10s to £3 12s; good calves, L 2 los ; calves 20s to 88s ; 18----month to two-year-old heifers, L 3 10s to L 4 15s; empty cows, L 2 12s to L 4 14; Jersey heifers, suitable for dairy purposes, L 4 15s to L 5 10s; bulls, L 3 to L 7 ; beef at fully Westfield rates.
At the Westfield Yards on Wednesday fat cattle were yarded in less numbers than usual, and advanced in price, prime oxen selling to 35s per 1001b, second quality 21s to 30s; and cows and heifers. 24s to 27s 6d. Steers sold at from L 7 17s 6dto Lls 12s 6d ; cows and heifers, L47s 6d to LlO. Ihe veal pens were again filled and sold at high rates. Heavy vealers sold to L 4 2s bd ; medium-weights, L 2 8s to L 3 ; others 20s to 375; smaller sorts, 3s to 1 os, Sheep were y arded in good numbers and advanced in price on last week's quotations. Best wethers sold at from 22s 6d to 25s 3d ; second quality, 18s to 2ls ; others, 15s to 17s 6d ; ewes, 15s fid to 25s 3d; hoggets, 12s to 16s. Spring lambs sold at from 13s 3d to LI 2s 6d. Pigs were penned in larger numbers than usual and sold at high rates, Baconers, L 2 15s to L 3 15s ; porkers, L2to L 2 18s; slips, 10s to 25s ; weaners, 4s 6d to 15s
