POLICE COURT.
' The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was held on' Monday evening' last; present Messrs Jas. Stewart (Chairman), A. Becroft and R. C. Hainmand, and the Clerk.
Minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed.
Two applications were received for the position of Ranger to the Board. The application cf John Hand being accepted.
For the position of Poundkeeper there was only one application, that of F. Tucker, who was appointed to the position.
The Clerk stated that he. had received £7 balance due from late Poundkeeper.
An application from Mr W. Johnstone for permission to erect a lean to and storeroom on his allottment. The permit was granted.
Letter from Mrs Stewait calling attention to the way in which the Board had left the entrance to her dwelling house in Commercial Road since the footpath has been cut down, It was resolved that the matter be left in the Chairman's hands to be dealt with.
Xielter received from the Valuation Department saying that they were forwarding voucher for £45 Is 4d, subsidy for the year 1910*11.
Letter re extension of Reserve was received.
School
The Clerk was authorised to put on order 40 barrels of tar for improving footpaths, etc,
A request from the Chairman of the School Committee, that the £40 promised by the Board towards th 9 new Technicle School, which was nearing completion, be paid, as the Board were pressing Jfor the amount. Tho Clerk was authorised to pay over the amount.
Communication from the Hobsou County Council re Kaipara Electorate Licensing expanses, tvas left in the hands of Mr Hammond and the Clerk to deal with.
It was resolved that the meeting of ratepayers to consider the proposed Loan of £10,000 for water nnd drainscheme be held on Monday September llth.
Accounts—Amounts paid between meetings amounting to £23 16s lid were passed; nnd accounts amounting to £53 4s 9d were passed for payment.

Minutes read and confirmed
A letter was read from Mr. Stallworthy M.P.. stating that he had placed the matter of grant of £350 before the Minister, and hoped to secure the same. He was not so confident about the £1000 asked for.
Goods asked for by the caretaker were authorised.
The Chairman stated that the howling green was well under way. and would b8 completed well within the estimate.
The Chairman drew afctention'to the state of the road between the Bridge and the Hot Springs. It was resolved tkat a letter be sent to the Waitemata County Council asking that their portion of the road be put in good order. It was resolved that in view of the erection of a Sanatorium at the Springs the Clerk write the Tourist Department asking them to furnish plans for a suitable building. It was also decided to i lake application for £1500 for the erection of a building foi a Sanitorium, Finance—Accounts paid between meetings £52 2s; accounts passed for payment £60 123 3d.

Charles Abrahamson, charged with drunkenness and resisting the Police; pleaded guilty to both charges, After hearing the evidence of Police he was convicted and fined 5s on the first charge, and sontenced to two months imprisonment for resisting the 'police. Edward Allcock, charged with drunkenness and vagrancy. Accused pleaded guilty to the first charge and was fined ss, On the second charge the pleaded not guilty, but after hearing the evidence given by the police, the Bench sentence! him to two weeks imprisonment.
