FOOTBALL.
An interesting match was played on the local Show Ground on Saturday afternoon last between teams . representing Woodhill and Helensville.
From the commencement both teams played bard and some good form was shown. During the first spell A. Hun - ter had the misfortune to break his collarbone in a collision with one of the Woodhill forwards. Helensville, after being forced down twice at short intervals, made a good rush, carrying the ball well within their opponents 25, where, securing the ball from a good pass, L. McLeod smartly crossed the line, securing first try ior home team, which he also converted. After the change of ends the game was more in favour of the local team, and al-» though the visitors put nr s>ome hard work they could not score,' while Helensville increased their score to 18 points, L. McLeod and V. McLeod each scoring tries, one 6f which was converted by V. McLeod. The game ended in a local win by 18 points to nil after a very sociable game.
