The steamer Helen Nicoll arrived from Trial Bay this morning, with passengers. Great crowds met her at the wharf, and much excitement prevailed. The Keilwarra was struck amidships, close to the engines. The retreat from the saloon was thus cut off. It now appears that the passenger Mrs Wilson, who was drowned, is not the daughter of Madame Carandini as at first said j and the Captain Calder, referred to in last telegram, is the captain of the steamship Victoria, not the Keilawarra.
