The Shaw-Lillywhite team of English cricketers commenced a match today against eleven of Victoria, which consisted of the following players: Boyle, Edwards, Horan, Houston, Lewis, Midwinter, M'Shane, Phillips, Trinnick, Trott, and Worm]l. The attendance was good, and an excellent wicket had been pitched, and the ground was in first-rn'e order. The home twin u-,.«t in first, and wheu the stumps wei drawn bad made 204 runs for the loss of four wickets Houston, bowled, 68; M Shane, not out, 63; Horan, not out, 46, being the principal scorers.
