[united press ASSOCIATION.! Dunedin, August 4. In the Divorce Court to-day the Judge decided that petitioner’s attendance was not required in the case of Mills v. Mills and Ferrier, and granted a decree nisi with costs against the corespondent. A shocking fatality occurred at Hamilton, Central Otago, yesterday, resulting in the death of Thomas New. ton and John Ogilvie. They were starting on a journey in a sprrng cart; when the horse bolted. Newton was tluown out at once, falling on his head and breaking his neck, death being instantaneous. Ogilvie stuckt o the cart for some time, but he was jerked out also, and when examined it was found that the bones of his chest were fractured, and some of the blood vessels ruptured. He died in a few minutes. Newion had only been married five weeks. Wellington, August 3. The barque Kentish Lass left for Cambridge Gulf this evening, taking 80 passengers, bound for Kimberley. Mr Alexander, managing director of the United Importers Company was a passenger by her, taking with him a large consignment of general merchandise for Wyndham, as a speculative venture.
