[REUTERS TELEGRAMS.] By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. CRICKET. AUSTRALIANS V. KENT COUNTY. (Received August 4, 10.30 p.m.) London, August 3. The cricket match, Australians v. Kent, was resumed to-day at Canterbury. The attendance was good and the weather fine. The Home team, with five wickets down for 118, continued their first innings, which closed for 171, G. G. Hearn carrying out his bat for 53. The Australians then went to the wickets, but were all disposed of for 79, Jones (caught and bowled) 30, being the highest scorer. Being 92 behind the Kentish men, the visitors followed on for their second innings, and when stumps were drawn for the day had placed 88 runs to their credit for the loss of six wickets. Giffen. caught, 22, Scott, run out, 28, being the most successful batsmen. The bowling of the Home team was dead on the wicket.
