HOSPITAL TRUSTEESHIP.

The ordinary meeting of the Hospital Trustees was held in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening] present—Mr Burger (Chairman), Mr Yoysey (Vice-Chair-man), Messrs W. Morris, Ziegler, M. Maloney, Payne, ana Wooldridge. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The outward correspondence was read and approved of, and the inward (a telegram notifying the Secretary that the Bye-laws were approved of by the Government) was received. The Wardsman’s Report for the month of July was read. It stated that the total number of patients treated during the month was seven, of which one (James Costello) was discharged cured, and six remained in the Hospital, viz., James Wilson, suffering ft ora general debility; John Monahan, tracturod leg; Norah Sweeney, phthisis] John Rouse, alcoholism, &c. ] Michael Hrosnan (who has since died), of traumatic trismus] and Thomas Whiunery injury to cheat, ’

The balance-sheet for the quarter ended June 30th was read, and received and adopted. The House Committee brought up their report re the erection of a residence on the Hospital Reserve for the Surgeon Superintendent, and stated that they bad prepared plans, &c., and roughly estimated the building, exclusive of labour, to cost £2OO. Offers having been received through members of Committee from peisons desirous of Belling their properties, it was resolved that the final consideration of the matter be held over till Thursday evening, at seven o’clock; and that in the meantime as many of the Committee as possible inspect the houses offered for sale. The Treasurer acknowledged the receipt of £6B 15s, subsidy from the Charitable Aid Board, for the quarter ended June 30th, 1886. The Secretary was instructed to call for tenders for supplies. Mr Q. Mansfield having been absent from four consecutive ordinary meetings of the Trustees, his seat was declared vacant, and Mr P. Dungan was appointed in his stead. Accounts to the amount of £147 16s 6d were passed for payment; and receipts for £l4 16s (in addition to the £6B 15s previously mentioned) were handed in. The Chairman read a telegram, addressed to him as Mayor, from the member for the district (Mr R. J. Seddon), stating that the local Hospital Committee would receive a subsidy on all moneys received by them up to October.—Received. This concluded the business of the meeting, which was then adjourned till Thursday, at 7 p.m.
