KUMAR A HOSPITAL.

The ordinary meeting of the Hospital Committee was held in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening ; present—Messrs Rudkin (in the chair), Voysey, Burger, Hope, Wildiidge, and Wooldridge. The minutes of the previous ordinary meeting were read and confirmed. The outward correspondence was read and approved of. The inward correspondence was read and received, and considered. Letter from the Colonial Secretary's Office, Wellington, dated March's, stating that two-thirds of the December quarter's subsidy (£25 Os 2d) had been sent direct to the Committee, and the remaining third (£l2 10s Id) to the District Board, from whom it shoold be claimed.—Received, and Secretary authorised to apply to Board for payment. Letter from the Premier's Office, Wellington, dated March 8, notifying that the time and place of the first meeting of contributors to the Kumara Hospital had been fixed, and a notice of the meeting forwarded to the Kumara Times for publication; also notifying having forwarded a copy of Gazette containing the Order in Council incorporating the Hospital.—The letter was received, and it was resolved that Mr R. E. Wylde act as Returning Officer at such meeting, and that Mr G. R. Rudkin be appointed to assist him in making a roll, report, &c. Also, that for every donation of five shillings a subscriber be entitled to vote, but that no person be allowed moie than five votes. Letter from Mr John Peake, Secretary to the Westland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board dated March 10, asking to he supplied with a statement shewing the approximate amount of expenditure required for the maintenance of the Kumara Hospital for the year ending 31st March, 1887, together with the amount of revenue likely to be received during the same period.— Letter received, and estimate ordered to be made out and forwarded, as desired. Telegram from R. H. Govett, Esq., Premier's Office, explaining mode of eondncting election.—Received. Letter from Diliman's Amateur Dramatic Cluh, requesting patronage at the entertainment. Received, and request granted. It was resolved that the remuneration to be given to Messrs Wylde aud Rudkin for making up rolls, reports, &0., be £2 2s each ; the attendance of each member of committee at the various meetings since last electiou to l»o shown in the report. The meeting was then adjourned till seven o'clock on Monday eveniug, the 22nd inst. The following receipts were handed in :—By Mr Hope, £1 ;Mr Wildridge, £1 ;Mr Voysey, £1 IQ S ; Wooldridge, £3 10s; Mr Rudkin, £1 15s._Total, £8 15s.
