[Abridged from the Grey River Argus, March 18.] The number of people on the ground was variously put down at between 900 and 1000. The following are the lesults of the races : West Coast Produce Stakes, of 30sovs. ; 1 mile; weight for age. Mr John Kennedy's g m Daisy 4yrs, Bst, 1211. .' i Mr Geo. M; Watson sent thorn away to a uut ycvj £jq<l start,

Barney being last to start. Tramp was the favourite. Cardigan went away with the lead, Cranmer being next, bub his condition was such that it was quite evident he had no chance whatever. Wanderer came in the first quarter of a mile, and showed iu front ; but Barney showed himself ambitious of honours, and took the lead. He kept it for a considerable distance, although Billy Kraaft looked momentarily dangerous. It was evidently a last flutter, aud he soon fell back into a more modest position. A very good struggle took place between Wanderer and Barney until Tramp came up quietly and disposed of both their pretensions by goiDg to the front quite easily. At the last Cardigan made a noble strngg'e to overtake Tramp, but although the will was there the old horse had not the speed. Tramp came in an easy winuer, Cardigan a good second, Barney third. Time, 4mins. Dividend, £2 75.; totalisator, £313. Hack Race Handicap, of lOsovs. ; three-quarter mile heats, without dismounting ; post entries. Native Cat 1 Galtee Boy 2 The following horses were entered and came to the start :—Fairy Queen, Galtee Boy, and Native Cat. The first heat was won by Galtee Boy after a sharp contest with Fairy Queen. In the second heat Native Cat went to the front in the most absurdly easy way. Fairy Queen withdrew. In the last heat Native Cat won in the most leisurely manner, the heat occupying about two minutes. Railway Stakes Handicap, of 40 sovs.; 1J miles. It was a very good race, all the horses taking the hurdles very well. I For a time it was a fine struggle be- ! tween Levant and Harkaway; but the I mare was too fleet of foot for the grey ' and won easily. Dividend, £4 17s 6d. This brought a clay's very good racing to a close.
