[united PRESS ASSOCIATION.! Christchurch, December 8. Mrs Johnston, wife of Judge Johnston, died at Peel Forest last night. C. W. H. Woledge, commission agent, was found dead in his bed this morning. He seemed well till yesterday afternoon, when he complained of a slight indisposition. He was a very old resident here, and formerly employed in the Customs Department, under W. J. W. Hamilton. A case of tutu poisoning is reported. It appears that Margaret .Robertson, a girl of 16, eat a quantity of green tutu berries at the St. Helena station, near Kaiapoi last Sunday. She went to bed quite well, but during the night was seized with fearful pains and symptoms like those of strychinine poisoning. By the use of emetics and other remedies, the symptoms were gradually subdued, but the girl remains in a very debilitated condition. Wellington, December 8. The work of demolishing the Exhibition building is now in full swing, and will be completed by Christmas, and the material sold by auction. Auckland, December 7. Shortly after midnight on Saturday a fire broke out in Mackie's carriage factory, High street, and before it was suppressed .£I2OO worth of damage was done. The building, which did not sustain much injury, is insured for ,£BOO in the South British. Mr Mackie, who estimates his loss at £9OO, was uninsured. The operations of the Fiie Brigade were much impeded by the telephone wires.
