The Australian Jockey Club Derby race was run at Randwick this afternoon, and resulted as follows : A.J.C. Derby, a sweepstakes of 30sovs. each, 5 ft., with 500.-iovs. added. For three-year-olds. Colts Bst. 10B&. and Allies Bst. 51b.; geldings at time of starting allowed sß>. The owner of the second horse to receive 100 sovs. from the prize, and the owner of the third to save his stake, l^ mile. Entries closed with 92 subs. Nordenfeldt, br c, Musket—Onyx 1 Uralla, bf, Chester—Moonstone ... 2 First Chester br c, Chester—Marie Stuart... 3 Only two others started, viz., Boori and Magnifier, Yoondoo being scratched. Nordenfeldt assumed the lead at the commencement ifhd maintained that position all the way round. There was a grand finish, Uralla being beaten by a length, while double that distance separated the second and third horses. Time, 2mins. 47-|-secs. (Received September 19, 9 p.m.) Later. The Epsom Handicap, of ssovs. each, 1 ft., with 200 sovs added. For two-year-olds and upwards. Second horse 50sovs. from the prize. One mile. Folly 1 Wing- 2 Lord Exeter ... ... 3 Sixteen horses started. A grand race ensued, which resulted in Folly winning on the post by a head. Time, lmin. 43-14 secs.
