Messrs Chapman and Denniston leave heie to-morrow, for Grey mouth, to attend a commission which will sit at Grey mouth on Friday or Saturday, to take evidence in the case of Wilson v. the National Insurance Company, arising out of the wreck of the Star of the South in December last. The case will be heard here in October. Auckland, September 20. Mr Flood, Secretary of the Auckland Club, was looking at the hunt, got thrown from his horse, and now lies in a precarious condiliou. Wellington, September 19. Sir Julius "Vogel's eldest son, H. B. Vogel, who was born in the colony, has just carried off at Wimbledon the Spencer Cup, which is the prize given by Earl Spencer for the best shot in all tho public schools of the United Kingdom. Mr Vogel represented Charterhouse, where he previously won during the same season a silver cup for the Wimbledon competition and a silver medal for the highest aggregate score of the season.
