>—•-■* [REUTERS TELEGRAMS.] By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. THE COLONIAL FEDERATION ENABLING ACT. FIRST MEETING of THE FEDERAL COUNCIL. OMNIBUS DRIVERS' STRIKE. MOLE SMALL-POX ON BOARD THE OCEANIEN. FEARS FOR SAFETY OF GERMAN CORVETTE AUGUSTA. (Received August 10, 7.40 p.m. Melbourne, August 10. It is expected that the first meeting of the Australian Federal Council will be held at Hobart on an early date next year. (Received August 11, 0.45 a.m.) Later. A meeting of the omnibus driverß is now being held. From the tone of the proceedings it is probable that the strike will be resumed, in consequence of the Melbourne Omnibus Company not reinstating unionists. (Received August 11, 1.30 p.m.) August 11. It is understood that the Bill accepting the provisions of the Federation Enabling Act will be presented to the Victorian Parliament with the least possible delay. The omnibus drivers' strike will not be resumed, the company having agreed to reinstate the men from time to time as vacancies occur. (Received August 11, 12.45 p.m.) Sydney, August 11. Two more cases of small-pox, of a less dangerous nature, however, than the first one discovered, have broken out on board the steamship Oceanien. The patients have been put ashore at the north head quarantine station. Fears are entertained that the German corvette Augusta, which was on her way to Sydney with relief crews for German vessels on the Australian station, has foundered at sea, as no tidings have been heard of her.
