STEAMSHIP MOVEMENTS.
THE STEAMSHIP CAHORS WRECK INQUIRY. PROPOSED NEW SOUTH WALES LOAN. THE MARKETS. (Received July 9, 10.30 a.m.) Sydney, July 9. Arrived, the Union Company's steamship Taupo. Sailed, to-night, the same company's steamship Te Anau, for Auckland. An official inquiry into the wreck of the Australian Steam Navigation Company's steamship Cahors is proceeding slowly, the evidence adduced being of a very conflicting character. (Received July 10, 10 p.m.) July 10.
It is announced that Government will shortly call for tenders in London for a loan of £5,500,000, bearing interest at the rate of 3£ per cent. New Zealand wheat, 3s per bnshel ;. New Zealand oats, 2s 2d ; maize, 2s lid for 561 b.«. ; Sugar Company's No. 1 prices £26 per ton ; pollard, Is per bushel ; potatoes, £3 per ton. Melbourne, July 9. The Union Company's steamship Tarawera arrived here to-day from the Bluff.
