MORE CASES OF SMALL-POX IN VICTORIA. (Received September 9, 0.55 a.m.) Sydney, September 8. Dr. Moran, the Roman Catholic Archbishop designate of Sydney, arrived to-day, and was accorded a great reception by large crowds who assembled, and a special service was held at the Cathedral. Albany, September 8. Arrived, this afternoon, the P. and 0. steamship Shannon, with the inward Suez mails, dated London, August 1, Adelaide, September 8. A serious outrage has been committed in the Northern Territory by a tribe of blacks, who attacked a party of copper miners, killing one and wounding two dangerously. The Duke of Manchester, who is visiting the Northern Territory, was only twenty miles from the scene of the outrage at the time.
(Received September 9, 1 p.m.) September 9. The police are pursuing the blacks in the Northern Territory who recently attacked a party of miners. The Duke of Manchester is still in the locality. Melbourne, September 9, More cases of small-pox are reported to-day from various places in the country.
