The recommendations of the Harbor Board re harbor-master will receive favourable consideration, also the application for the road to Cedar Creek reefs. A recommendation from the County Council on this subject will be sought. Tenders for conveying cylinders for the Taipo bridge to Hokitika are to be called at once, also tenders will be called shortly, for stone blocks maintenance, tailing on boxes, timber, ironwork, rai's* candles, and all requisites for, and in connection with the Kumara sludgechannel aud water-races. The question of remedying the sludge-channel grievances, and construction of additional tail-races or branches from the sludgechannel, can only be dealt with on the new Minister of Mines assuming office."
