[REUTER’S TELEGRAMS.] By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. CRICKET. AUSTRALIANS V. GLOUCESTERSHIRE. (Received August 9, 1.10 a.m.) London, August 7. The Australian cricketers commenced a match at Clifton to-day against eleven of the county of Gloucestershire. The following are the names of the Home team : —J. A, Bush, W. R. Gilbert, Dr. E. M. Grace, Dr. W. G. Grace, W. W. F. Patten, F. Townsend, and N. V. Page, Wool, Brain, Carter, and Painter. The weather was splendid throughout the day, and there was a good attendance of spectators, great interest being taken in the game, The Home team went in first to the wickets and put together a total of 301 tuns before the last man was disposed of. W, G. Grace played splendidly, and cai tied out his bat after scoring 116. The other principal scorers were Gilbert, bowled, 57, and Townsend, bowled, 40. The innings of the local team lasted until late in the afternoon, and when time was called the Australians had scored 14 runs without the loss of a wicket.
