VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE.

The monthly meeting of the Kumara Volunteer Fire Brigade was held in the Town Hall on Wednesday evening last; present—Capt. Dove, Lieut. M'Ewen', Foreman Brayshaw, Treasurer Greenwood, Secretary Close, Firemen Orams, Ziegler, Geraghty, Rudkin, Sumsion, Nichol, Waters, Burger, Anderson, Schulstad, C. and J. Martha, F. Smith, J. Hannah, and J. Coutts. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Treasurer Greenwood was elected Foreman of the Hose Company; Fireman Burger was appointed DeputyForeman Hose Company; and Fireman Geraghty was unanimously elected Treasurer. Fireman Orams' name was added to the standing Committee to carry out the arrangements for the Ball to be held on the 23rd inst. It was resolved that gentlemen be allowed to take an extra lady to the Ball, and the charge be 5s 6d; and that the admission to the gallery be 2s 6d.

Receipts to members' fund were handed in, amounting to £[ 12s.
