THE QUEEN'S RETURN HOME,
ASPECT OF AFFAIRS IN CHINA. (Received May 6, 1.5 a.m.) London, May 5. Her Majesty the Queen will return to England from Darmstadt on Tuesday next. Hong-Kong, May 5. Latest intelligence from Pekin states that that city is now in a state of peace, no disturbance or anti-foreign demonstration having occurred for some time past. Preparations for the defence of the city and the augmentation and improvement of the Imperial army are, however, being made continuously, and fortifications in the neighborhood are being rapidly pushed forward.
