The earthquake last night was felt at Westport, Nelson, Blenheim, Masterton, Patea, Hawera, Carterton, Lyell, Feilding, Christchurch, Hokitika, Greymouth, and Kumara. The seisoraeter at the Colonial Museum, Wellington, shows that at 6-49 p.tn., there was a sharp shock from N.N.E., with two circular twists, and a displacement towards south, the duration being one second. After five seconds interval there was a long E. and W. undulation, lasting 15 seconds, with slight final displacement towards the east. No damage is reported here from the earthquake. Christchurch, April 12. In the cricket match Canterbury v. Wellington, the latter went in first, and their innings closed for 71 runs. Canterbury in their second innings soured 185 runs.
