[NEW ZEALAND PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Christchurch, March 5. Mr Milner Stephen gave his second public seance on Saturday afternoon last. Nothing of public interest occurred except a disturbance which took place in the pit owing to the interruption of a gentleman who said that he had paid Mr Stephen two guineas for curing his child, and the child was no better. The gentleman was very much excited, and so was Mr Stephen, who ultimately, after the use of strong language on both sides, put on his hat and departed. He said he would perform no more cures until the originator of the disturbance was removed. This was accordingly done and Mr Stephens re-commenced. There were an immense number present, every part of the theatre being crammed to excess. The stage was invaded, and Mr Stephen had great difficulty in securing a clear space in which to work. He was not nearly so successful as on previous occasions, and as before there was no opportunity of testing the reality of the so-called cures. Several who had been operated on the previous week came a second time apparently in no way better than they were previonsly.
