KUMARA MINING COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the Knmara Mining Committee was heM at Peters’ Dillman’s Town, last evening Mr Arthur was voted to the chair. Ten members were present. Mr Moran reported that the deputation appointed to wait on the Warden in reference to free water had an interter view with him, and his reply was that he had no power, but that, if applied to by the Minister of Mines, he, after inqirry, would be iuinclined to report favorably. Mi' Mansfield reported having waited on Mr Cow in reference to what he considered a da ’s water. Mr Cow’s reply was, that half a day should be counted as a ful 1 day. Telegrams from Mr Seddon and the County Chairman re the free water question were read and received. Mr Morris moved “That Messrs Kothwell, Moran, and the mover wait on Mr Cow to ascertain if he has recfTed any further instruction in regard to free water, and to report at next meeting.” I'lie motion was seconded by Mr Creber, and carried. Some small accounts were passed for payment, and the meeting adjourned till Thursday evening next, at eb'ht o’clock.
