KUMARA LICENSING MEETING.
The fust quarterly meeting of the Kuniara Licensing Committee, under tho new Licensing Act, was held in the Court House to-day at noon, AH the members were present, viz., Messrs James Holmes, John O’Hagan, Edward James Tarnlyn Price, Alexander Calder Campbell, and Reuben Toms. The first-named gentleman was, on the motion of Air O’Hagan, seconded by Air Campbell, unanimously elected Chairman of the Licensing Committee. Aif application for the transferor the European Hotel license horn Kate APlntosh to Thomas Wilkinson was granted. The removal of the license of the Masonic Hotel, Main sMvet, to tin* house known as the P, mk in Seddon street, was granted. A temporary transfer of the City Hotel, Alain street, from Thomas Wilkinson to William Rerdiuer was granted. Also a temporary transfer of the Empire Hotel, at the corner of Main and Seddon streets, fiom Edwin R.dike to Louis Ziegler, was granted. Applications for conditional licenses on the 17th March, were issued to Messrs 0. W, Anderson, Theatre Royal Hotel, and Denis Hannan, Post Office Hotel.
The passing of the accounts in connection with the late Licensing Coinmittee election brought the first quarterly new licensing meeting to a close.
