BRITISH AND FOREIGN. London, March 9, Thanksgivings were offered up in all the churches throughout the United Kingdom yesterday for the Providential escape of the Queen from the attempt upon her life. Loyal addresses to her Majesty on the occasion will be moved in the Houses of Parliament to-day. Washington, March 6, Most disastrous floods have occurred iu Arkansas and adjoining States in the south, owing to the overflow of the Mississippi and its tributaries. An enormous extent of country is flooded. Thousands of homes have been devastated, and great loss of life and stock resulted. It is estimated that fully 50,000 persons have been rendered destitute, and that in the State of Arkansas alone 20,000 head of cattle have been drowned. The United States Senate is flow dis l cussing a bill for the total exclusion of Chinese from Anerica.
