KUMARA HOSPITAL.

The usual fortnightly meeting of the Hospital Committee was held in the Secretary’s Rooms, Main street, on Tuesday evening last; present—Mr Pearn (in the chair), Messrs Toms, Morris, Hughes, Dinau, Morgan, White, and Wilson. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and continued. r l he outward correspondence was read and approved of, and the. inward read and received. Tire House Committee reported having suspended .Mrs Cooper, and appointing Mrs M.icnaniara as cook and launr! ivss, pending the decision of the general commit tee. After consideration of the action of the House Committee in suspending the cook and laundress, the following resolution w -s proposed and carried : “ fhat Mrs Cooper he informed that her - services at the Hospital are dispensed with, on account of her disregard of the instructions of the House Committee, and absenting herself from the institution niter being cautioned for so doing,” It was also moved and c rrried “ i hat the existing arrangements at tire Ho'jiit.rl remain in force for the

next three months, and that applications be called for from married couples willing to act as wardsman and cook and laundress.”

The consideration of the required notice to be given to the Wardsman was deferred to the nekt general meeting. The Secretary I’ead the balance-sheet for the past quarter ; which was adopted. Mr R. Morgan was appointed on the House Committee vice Mr Morris. An account for £3 was passed for payment. The following sums were handed in by—Mr Morris, £1 5Mr Dinanj £1 10s; Mr R. Morgan, £1 ; Mr T. Hughes, £3—total £6 10s. This concluded the business of the meeting.
