Melbourne, October 14. The following additional acceptances for the Melbourne Cup are announced : Coorena, Elastic, and Hesperian. The following scratchings for the Cup have been posted to-day The Conut, Crystal, Lady Disdain, The Moor, and loouvenir. October 15. Obituary— W. H. Odgers, XJuderColonial Secretary of Victoria. Private telegrams have been received here, stating that the frost has destroyed fully twenty-five per cent, of the Virginia tobacco crop. His Honor Mr Justice Molesworth, who has for some time been in illhealth, has recovered, and has resumed his duties on the Bench, The following further scratchings for the Melbourne Cup are announced : Dundreary and Lord Lisgar. The race for the Caulfield Gold Cup was run to-dav, and was won by Master A venal, with Pirate second. Only two started. Brisbane, October 14. Both Houses of Parliament now s f and adjourned to Tuesday next, wbe the prorogation will take place.
